To resolve this issue, I put a bit of tape in the shaft when I put it in the rubber holder to give it a bit more bite. And as long as I give enough heat to the hosel/adapter, it comes right off with this. Web15 mei 2024 · Chuck up the shaft/screw into the puller and tension a little. Fire up the torch and heat, counting to 5 or so, then set the torch down and crank the handle and off pops the adapter. If you use the wet cloth trick around the ferrule you want to wrap the cloth before heating of course, and make sure the cloth is fully saturated wet, dripping even.

The heat required for this method was also pretty minimal. I hope this helps. Oh and something else that might help with your heating time is to use boiling water before you start with the heat gun.
