Version 2 of the port mapper protocol maps ONC RPC program number/version number pairs to the network port number for that version of that program. WebThe rpcbind [1] utility maps RPC services to the ports on which they listen. RPC processes notify rpcbind when they start, registering the ports they are listening on and the RPC program numbers they expect to serve.
